extracting with different extension

I was wondering if its possible to extract an archive with a different extension besides the known ones?

e.g : extension = . img (actually its a .iso archive)

Something like SevenZipExtractor.Format:=Iso;

The archive format is automatically guessed by the file signature. The file name extension means nothing for Extractor. Hence no need to specify the format manually.

Thats not true. The extraction does depend on the extension. If i rename the formentioned .img file to .iso then it will extract the file. Try it with any iso file and rename it to .img. Try to extract the .img and it will give an error.

kind regards,

I tried. Yup, you are right. I coded 3 possible iso signatures and they do not work. As the last resort, the format is guessed by the extension, since no valid signature is found. I have to improve iso signatures.
